I am officially keeping track of BORT's now. BORT stands for "Bites of the Round Table" - our sunday night dinner club.
Today's BORT was:
- pork loin bulgogi,
- lettuce wraps with scrambled fried tofu,
- shishito peppers,
- cookies, ice-cream.
Despite having made bulgogi twice in one week, I'm not still sure what it is. I haven't looked it up out of laziness, but if I was to guess what it is without looking it up, it would be meat with a specific kind of marinade, and then cooked a certain way. Oh, and I suppose this should also be thinly sliced. That seems to be common.
bulgogi /boo͞l-gō′gē, poo͞l-/
noun
A Korean dish made from sliced beef that has been marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, sugar, and other ingredients and grilled, usually eaten by wrapping the meat and accompanying condiments with lettuce leaves into bite-sized morsels.
PS. I have no idea what BORT # we are on. We've been doing sunday dinners for at least 2 years, occaisionally missing a week here and there. So, let's just start it at #94, why don't we?
